Am I a Good Candidate?

Getting permanent makeup is both an exciting and anxious experience.  Most people are great candidates, but there are a few factors that may make this a procedure you might want to avoid.

EYEBROWS~ Eyebrows are a breeze!  I call myself the EYEBROW GENIE for a reason... I LOVE doing brows!  The brows can transform a person's face completely.  The EYEBROWS are great for anyone who does not have medical contraindications*.  Microblading has been extremely popular in the past few years.  Not everyone is a candidate for Microblading.  Because it is more shallow in the skin, it really only holds on certain skin types.  Anyone who has had multiple eyebrow tattoos in the past is not a good candidate.  The skin needs to be virgin and healthy.  Anyone who smokes, is in the sun or tanning beds regularly, and/or uses anti-aging formulas regularly on the skin,

EYELINER~ Eyeliner is a much more invasive and difficult procedure.  The best candidates are those who are used to putting in contact lenses or aren't nervous when someone is touching their eyes.  Do you have issues when you go in for an eye exam?  If the answer is YES, then you should not get permanent eyeliner.  Heavily hooded lower lids are very difficult to work on and can sometimes be nearly impossible to insert ink into evenly.
During the procedure it is very important that you are not squinting or moving around.  Squinting or sudden, nervous movements will almost definitely result in uneven pigment insertion.  So if you have overly sensitive eyes, this probably isn't a good procedure for you.

LIPS~ Because lips are mucus membranes and not regular, porous skin, it takes several appointments to get the pigment to stay.  If you have any history of cold sore, fever blisters, herpes simplex, etc. then the procedure may cause an outbreak.  This type of candidate must get antiviral medications from their physician and take them several days before and several days after their procedure to prevent a break out.

AREOLA RECONSTRUCTION~  Clients must be at lease 1 year out from their last breast surgery.

The way your procedure will go mainly depends on your attitude coming into the spa.  If you are nervous and scared, that energy is going to permeate throughout your entire experience.

Relax and know that I will do my best to keep you comfortable.

*CONTRAINDICATIONS~
Clients must be at least 18 years of age and not pregnant or nursing.  Clients with high blood pressure, on strong blood thinners (such as Comadin), facial implants, insulin dependent diabetes, hemophilia, on Accutane medication, auto-immune diseases, recent chemo therapy, elevated anxiety, herpes simplex (especially around the mouth or eyes) should clear it with their doctors before considering permanent makeup.
